54.Wednesday- 2nd week - Rosary David's harp and sling

The Rosary is the sling that felled Goliath; it breaks every demonic bondage.

1 Samuel 16: 14 The spirit of the LORD had departed from Saul, and he was tormented by an evil spirit from the LORD.

Rosary is David's harp to conduit God's presence.
1 Samuel 16: 23 Whenever the spirit from God came upon Saul, David would take the harp and play, and Saul would be relieved and feel better, for the evil spirit would leave him.

Like David's music, the Rosary is a conduit for God's presence—a spiritual weapon rather than a physical one. Its rhythmic prayer awakens the soul, calms the heart, and confronts spiritual enemies, creating space to rest in God's presence.

The Rosary is the culmination of David's psalms, bringing peace and tranquility.

Rosary, called "Our Lady's Psalter, emerged as a lay alternative to the 150 Psalms traditionally recited by monks, allowing the illiterate to participate by praying 150 Hail Mary's, meditating on Christ's life through the Mysteries, thus echoing the depth and themes of the biblical Psalter in a new form.

The repetitive nature of the Hail Mary's and Our Fathers helps the mind to focus, creating a meditative rhythm similar to the Psalms, fostering tranquility and devotion. The word "Rosary" means "crown of roses," symbolizing the spiritual gift of beauty and peace given with each prayer.

Where the rosary is recited there will be days of peace and tranquility," said St. John Bosco.

1 Samuel 17: 37 David continued: “The same LORD who delivered me from the claws of the lion and the bear will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.”

Rosary is the David's sling and 5 stones that killed goliath.

1 Samuel 17: 40 Then, staff in hand, David selected five smooth stones from the wadi and put them in the pocket of his shepherd’s bag. With his sling in hand, he approached the Philistine.

Like Jesus, a disciple must be either a cornerstone or a stumbling stone.

Mark 3:1-6

Then he said to them, “Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath rather than to do evil, to save life rather than to destroy it?” But they remained silent.

The Pharisees went out and immediately took counsel with the Herodians against him to put him to death.

For those who believe, Jesus is the crucial stone upon which their life is built, offering stability, unity, and a, perfect fit. It implies total surrender to His lordship and following His example of love and service. For those who are disobedient or reject the message, the same stone becomes a, "rock of offense" that causes them to fall. This symbolizes a, rejection of, truth, which results in, spiritual destruction.

Daily recitation of the Rosary is believed to clear homes of evil influences, transforming them into "oases of God's grace. The Rosary is not meant as a superstition, but as a "weapon of love" to fight spiritual darkness by fostering deep contemplation and trust in God.
