Wednesday - 3rd Week of Advent.

Realization about baptismal covenant power leads to Sonship.

Genesis 49:10 : The scepter shall never depart from Judah.

Jacob's Blessing: A patriarchal blessing, by Jacob to his son Judah, signifying that royal authority and a lawgiver would remain within his lineage until the coming of the Messiah.

Scepter & Lawgiver: Symbols of royal power, rule, and governance, indicating a lasting dynasty.

A Catholic receives this patriarchal blessing through baptism :
"The scepter shall never depart from Judah" (Genesis 49:10) is a prophecy about the Messiah coming from the tribe of Judah, signifying unending royal authority, which Christians see fulfilled in Jesus Christ, the "Lion of the Tribe of Judah," whose reign is spiritual and universal, extended to all nations through the Catholic Church, and initiated through baptism, making believers part of this eternal kingdom. Catholics receive this blessing by becoming members of Christ's body, the Church, inheriting His spiritual kingship and participating in His eternal rule through faith and sacraments like baptism, symbolizing new life in His resurrected kingdom, not earthly monarchy.

A Catholic is called to live out the offices of Priest, Prophet, and King through Baptism, sharing in Christ's mission, as explained in the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) paragraphs 783-785 and 1241, which state the baptized are incorporated into Christ, the anointed priest, prophet, and king, and share in His unique vocation to be a holy priesthood and God's witnesses in the world.

Priest: You offer your daily work, prayers, and sacrifices to God, sanctifying the world through your actions, just as Jesus offered Himself.

Prophet: You speak and live God's truth, sharing the Gospel and calling others to faith through your words and deeds.

King: You exercise "royal freedom" by ruling over sin and vice, leading yourself and others to serve God and build His kingdom on Earth through justice and service.

Rosary is the effective tool to comprehend the works of baptismal covenant in the daily life of Catholics.
